Cove Industries would like to thank everyone who came to visit their stand at the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition at Farnborough this year.  As a local supplier, it was fantastic to see so many people at the show and the amount of interest shown at our stand was greatly appreciated.  The stand showed off Cove’s full design and manufacturing capability from Sheet metal fabrication, enclosures, Paint shop and silkscreening to electronic wiring and assembly and Automatic Test Equipment.

Fleet & Hart Lions Clubs have taken delivery of a new Santa Sleigh ahead of their Christmas charity fundraising tour of streets in Fleet and Church Crookham during December.

Santa took the new sleigh for a test drive at the Fleet Festivities on Wednesday when he popped in to switch on the town centre festive lights. Over 8000 residents packed Fleet town centre to celebrate the start of the festive season with a street market, entertainments and attractions. The town centre was pedestrianised for the evening as Fleet celebrated with a festive carnival atmosphere.

The staff (and elves) at Farnborough-based engineering firm Cove Industries have been working on the sleigh since late summer together with a dedicated team from Fleet Lions Club. Gordon Day, Chairman at Cove Industries, said, “Our success is built upon our ability to deliver upon a diverse range of skills. I am proud that our team of engineers have taken this unusual project in their stride especially as it supports a local charity in the brilliant work that they do.”

Fleet Lions Club President, Brian Proctor, added, “Santa’s previous sleigh was nearly worn out and we are thrilled that the new sleigh will enable us to continue to raise money for local charities in the lead up to Christmas, before it returns to Lapland to prepare for Christmas deliveries.”

Cove will be exhibiting examples of cabinets and enclosures designed to comply with EMC standards. This will be of great interest to visitors attending Keith Armstrongs demonstration during Tuesday 9th where he will discuss  EMC problems, such as slots and seams in enclosures causing problems for shielding. Well worth a visit to Cove’s stand to see examples of it done correctly and to discuss production techniques.
